This Turmeric Latte recipe is boosted with not just turmeric, but also cinnamon for double the flavor and double the health benefits. You will want to drink this on repeat all month. Luckily, since it only takes a few minutes to throw together in the morning, you can!
If you aren’t familiar with turmeric, you may want to start with just ½ tsp and then move up to ¾ tsp as your palate becomes more familiar with the taste.
Turmeric is an old Indian spice that has been used for thousands of years and is widely proclaimed a “superfood”. Healthline.com goes so far as to say that it “may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence!”.
This little spice gets its power from a powerful antioxidant called curcumin. Studies show that this little antioxidant fights inflammation in the body. As many experts believe that chronic inflammation plays a big role in almost every major disease, anti-inflammatory foods are critical to our health. Some studies have shown that turmeric may be as effective as anti-inflammatory drugs (without the negative side effects, of course)! It’s impressive stuff!
As a quick side, cinnamon is also high in curcumin. By including both in this delicious drink, you reap tons of benefits. The two flavors also complement each other extremely well.
